Collaboration over competition... I said what I said.

Updated: Apr 2, 2021

"Two people who collaborate well will be about three times as effective as each of them operating independently, because each will see what the other might miss -- plus they can leverage each other's strengths while holding each other accountable to higher standards." -- Unknown

COVID or not, I will always hold collaboration/collaborative learning in the highest regard as the best way to learn.

I don’t believe in the saying that goes “if you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far go together.”

No matter how much you feel you don’t need other people, it truly takes a village.

One of the goals for my event is to bring everyone together after this very damaging year. We desperately need a sense of connection and community. No matter what your stance is on COVID, the health problems that are associated with isolation are vast and well-studied.

And, to add to that, there’s an accountability factor which, in my opinion, is literally priceless!

I paid more to ensure that there’s a massive amount of space at my event for 12 ft. of social distancing (double that of the recommendation by the government.) But that’s not what this post is about.

I used to be a private person, doing everything on my own. But when I came together with classmates at the Schulich School of Business and with mentors and leaders in my career

that’s when I started to notice drastic changes in my income, lifestyle and my happiness meter went OFF the charts in a way that I never thought possible.

There is so much more that you can accomplish together/in a group than you can while grinding on your own.

In love & elevation,

Maie
